FIRST FAQs

FAQ

Common questions about FIRST, commitments, generosity, and what it means to engage as one church family.

What does 100% engagement mean?

100% engagement means our hope is that every person who calls Biltmore Church home will prayerfully engage in FIRST. While every commitment will look different, we believe God invites each of us to take a next step in faith and generosity. FIRST is about more than giving. It is about growing as disciples, trusting God more deeply, and joining together as one church to accomplish what He is calling us to do.

How long is my commitment?

FIRST is a two-year discipleship initiative. We are inviting everyone to make a two-year financial commitment that will be fulfilled through December 2028. This allows us to faithfully fund both our current ministry and the vision God has placed before our church.

What is Biltmore asking me to do?

Pray First
Ask God how He wants to work in your life during this season. Spend time listening to Him and be willing to follow wherever He leads.

Engage Fully
Whether you've attended Biltmore for years or you're just getting connected, we invite you to participate in FIRST. Our prayer is that every person would experience spiritual growth by taking a meaningful next step.

Give Sacrificially
Prayerfully consider what God is asking you to give over the next two years. FIRST is about trusting God with what He has entrusted to us. We believe extraordinary things happen when an entire church family comes together with one heart and one mission.

How will gifts to FIRST be used?

Every gift given during the FIRST discipleship initiative supports both the ongoing ministry of Biltmore Church and the future vision God has called us to pursue. Rather than separating ministry into different funds, FIRST allows us to move forward together through one unified plan.

The vision is organized into three strategic priorities:

  • Make Disciples
  • Make Room
  • Make Greater Impact

Together, these priorities will help us continue loving people one at a time across Western North Carolina and beyond.

Can I give assets or other non-cash gifts?

Yes. Many people choose to give through appreciated stock, donor-advised funds, real estate, business interests, retirement assets, or other non-cash gifts. If you'd like assistance exploring these giving options, our Finance Team would be glad to help.

Please contact giving@biltmorechurch.com for more information.

Does FIRST replace my regular giving?

During FIRST, we are asking our church family to think about all of their generosity as one commitment. Rather than supporting separate campaigns or designated ministry funds, every gift given to Biltmore Church helps fuel both our ongoing ministry and the vision of FIRST.

This unified approach allows us to steward resources strategically while remaining focused on the mission God has given our church.

What if I've never given before?

FIRST is designed for everyone, not just those who have given in the past. If you've never taken the step of financial generosity, this can be a meaningful opportunity to begin trusting God in a new way.

What if I'm new to Biltmore Church?

We're so glad you're here! FIRST reflects where God is leading Biltmore Church, and we'd love for you to be part of the journey. If you're ready to call Biltmore home, this is a wonderful season to take that step and join us as we pursue God's vision together.
